The Executive Secretary of Plateau State Muslims Pilgrim Welfare Board, Hon Daiyabu Dauda has debunked reports that the 2024 state contingent are involve in drugs peddling as ascribed in social media.

Information Officer, Yasir Ismail Yahaya disclosed this information in a statement to Journalists in Jos, arguing that the information is not true but the hand work of mischief makers out to tarnish the good reputation of the Executive Secretary, Hon.Daiyabu Dauda .
According to him ” the board attention was drawn to a rebuttal false report that “Drugs: An official of Plateau Pilgrims Board, Murtala Magaji, arrested in Jeddah Airport”.
“We wish to clarify that this report is entirely misleading and untrue.
For the record, all officials of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board are safe and accounted for, with no one arrested in Jeddah Airport.
“Our officials and pilgrims are law-abiding citizens who are fully aware of the strict laws in Saudi Arabia, including the severe penalties for drug-related offenses.
“We assure the public that we are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our officials and pilgrims.
The statement confirmed that all officials and pilgrims from Plateau State are currently in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, performing their religious obligations.
The board urged the public, especially journalists, to fact-check their reports and verify information with the commission for clarity before publication.
Additionally, the board congratulated the Plateau State government and Governor Caleb Mutfwang on his anniversary in office, praising the state’s progress under his leadership and good governance.
