Atiku Abubakar
Taking on the suit of the first petitioner and Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Election Petition Court has dismissed the case challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
A member of the Justice Haruna Tsammani led 5-man Justices, Justice Moses Ugo who read the verdict of the court said Atiku’s petition was filled with unclear and generic allegations.
Justice Stephen Adah who continued the verdict pointed out the failure of Atiku to file the witness statements on oath along with his petition.
He said the burden of proof rests on the party and petitioners, nothing that other petitions dealing with the qualifications of President Bola Tinubu, allegations of money laundering and the status of Abuja with regards to compulsory 25 per cent electoral victory had been delt with during the ruling on Peter Obi and Labour Party suits.
