The Nigeria Labour Congress has given the Federal Government up until Wednesday, June 6, 2023 to revert to the old price of petrol of N185 per litre and N191 per litre or face an industrial action.
The President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, issued the ultimatum on Friday after a National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
Ajaero said if the ultimatum was not met, the industrial action would be followed by protests across the country.
According to Ajaero, “The NLC NEC directs all state councils and industrial unions to commence mobilisation from this moment.”
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday during the meeting between the government and Labour, Ajearo said the Congress had demanded for the names of beneficiaries of fuel subsidy from 2015 to 2023 so as to clear the air of doubts and controversies surrounding the authenticity of claims and dealers involved.
