… Nentawe condoles with Chairman of Jos North LGC, and families of the victims of Thursday tanker explosion

The Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Bala Usman has condemned the attack on the mining pond in Farin Lamba Turu in Jos South Local Government Area on Monday.
Gunmen, suspected to be terrorist were on their way to attack some villages in the council area that fateful day when they accosted a group of young men at a mining site in Farin-Lamba community at about 9:45 pm and opened fire on them at random and succeeded in killing six of them on the spot, while others escaped with various degrees of gunshot wounds.
The Chairman while extending his sympathy to families and victims in Jos noted that he was deeply touched by the news of the killing of innocent lives who were miners looking for their source of livelihood.
While lamenting on the dastardly attacks, the Chairman said Jos North and South are neighhbors therefore, what affect Jos South Local Government Area and its people invariably affects Jos North, hence the need to share in their pains.
The Chairman conveyed his deepest sympathy to the Government and people of Jos South Local Government, Plateau State and the families of the victims.
The Chairman lamented that despite efforts of the Plateau state Government and the authorities of Jos South Local Government to wipe out crime and criminality, criminal elements whose activities is to deprive innocent citizens of their means of livelihoods are bent on inflicting pains on innocent citizens, stressing that evil cannot triumph over good no matter how long it takes.
He called for collaborative actions against criminals who have no regard for sanctity of human life.
Usman appealed to security operatives to go after the attackers and work assiduously to put an end to these callous and dastardly acts which has retarded not only the progress of the Local government, but the entire state at large.
He advised the people of Jos North Local Government Area to remain calm as a result of the killings and go about their normal businesses without fear of any whatsoever as his administration is in touch with the conventional and non conventional security agencies to ensure a crime free society.
In another development, Usman has sent a condolence to victims of tanker explosion on Thursday, leading to the loss of many lives in the resulting inferno.
He described the rising death toll as devastating and unpalatable at this crucial period of Nigeria.
The incident which occurred at about 12.30pm on Thursday when a tanker loaded with premium motor spirit popularly referred to as petrol cut fire on the road.
Usman stated he was devastated with the news of the incident and expressed shock at the loss of lives, injuries and destruction of properties.
Usman who conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to those who suffered various degrees of burns as a result of the fire and prayed for their quick recovery.
The Chairman assured that the Council will constitute a committee to investigate the incident with a view to ascertaining it immediate and remote causes and to put in measures to forestall future re-occurence.
Also, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded election Nentawe Yilwatda has sympathised with the families of the victims of the tanker explosion in Jos yesterday.
In a condolence message through his spokesman Shittu Bamaiyi, Nentawe expressed shock and sadness over the tragic incident which claimed the lives of some people in the area.
Nentawe remarked that it is painful and devastating, when people who go out to earn their daily living not to come back home alive.
He also extended his sympathy to the chairman of Jos north local government council, the traditional and community leaders in the area, and all those who lost their property in the inferno.
