
Onana and Song
The Cameroonian Football Association has temporarily suspended the first choice Goalkeeper for the Indomitable Lions, Inter Milan goal tender, Andre Onana for offences described is gross indiscipline and insubordination to constituted authorities.
Onana was corrected by the Technical Manager of the Lions, former Captain and 46-year-old Rigobert Song who is insisting that Onana should be a traditional goalkeeper who stays within his territory – the 18-yard box and should not be using his legs but hands to hold balls as known to goalkeepers.
The Goalkeeper was said to have opposed his coach and engaged Rigobert Song in an embarrassing shouting match at their training on Sunday. He also asked to be excused from their next match.
Onana was replaced by Davis Epassy on Monday in the 3-3 draw Cameroon played with Serbia.
The Cameroonian FA headed by Samuel Eto Philips a contemporary of Rigobert Song in the Lions team approved and announced the immediate temporary suspension of Andre Onana stressing that although Onana is important in the team, the FA will not mortgage team discipline for any player.
Cameroon said the country was in a straight trying to qualify for the next stage of the competition and cannot at this time accommodate any form of distraction.

Cameroon lost the first match 0-1 to Switzerland in Group played and 3-3 with Serbia in the second game on Monday. On Friday 2nd December at 2000 hours the Lions will face Brazil in the last group match.
The statement from the Cameroonian FA did not state the implication of the suspension but since it is temporary, Onana’s sins may be forgotten if he shows repentance, allegiance to match officials and country and apologize to the players, crew and FA for his behavior.
