The Chairman All Progressive Congress ,APC, in Plateau State , Rufus Bature has assured all aspirants vying for elective positions in the state of transparent leadership and open door policy ahead of primaries, even as he said not all aspirants that purchased nomination forms were qualified to fly the party’s flag in the coming elections.
He spoke while giving an update for the extension of time in selling nomination form and expression of interest to aspirants vying for the state House of assembly .
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Bature said that the decision was in line with the APC guidelines to enable everyone participate actively in the electoral process .
He disclosed that the APC constitution was designed to ensure that people are allowed to be part of the elections so the additional shift in date of closing for the sells of nomination form was due to the influx of people who want to participate via APC constitution and INEC guidelines to allow all citizens to contribute .
For the state, Bature explained further that the party is agreement with the committee set up to reduce the number of APC aspirants to five so that the party can chose the best for the forthcoming primaries .
He stated that not all the APC aspirants that purchased nomination form are qualified but there are candidates among candidates that can fly the ticket of the party to challenge the opposition PDP .
Hon Rufus disclosed why the APC State Secretariat was relocated to its present location in Kalwa House to avoid gridlock and unnecessary accident on the highway .
He said; “We discovered that there is no parking space for people and the Uwarewah House was too small to accommodate influx of people and aspirants coming to obtain nomination forms with their supporters hardly gain entrance into the building.:
Bature said he operates transparent leadership that accommodate all categories of APC members and to ensure that the party clinches the positions in the upcoming general elections .
He revealed that as the state chairman, his doors are wide open to discuss and fine tune how new ideas to reposition the APC to win elections .
