The Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Maj Gen Ibrahim Ali has condemned the attack by gunmen in Jos North Local Government, killing fice persons in different locations . Gen Ali commiserating with the families of the victims of the unfortunate incident.
Narrating the ordeal, the spokesman of the Operation SAVE HAVEN said they received a distress call on civil unrest that ensued between Fulani herders and miners at Yelwa Zangam general area of Jos North LGA in the early hours of Tuesday 15 February 22.
According to Major Ishaku Takwa, the Military Information Officer of OPSH, the attacks in Yelwa Zangam of Jos North Local Government council of Plateau State occurred in the late hours of same day, when a vehicle conveying passengers was attacked along road Jos-Jingir.
He disclosed that the Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN swiftly responded to both incidents and brought the situation under control “but unfortunately, one person was killed and another injured at the mining site.”
“On the unfortunate attack on commuters, three persons lost their lives, two other passengers sustained varying degree of injuries and six others were rescued.
“While assuring that everything would be done to bring perpetrators of the violence to book, General Ibrahim Ali urged law abiding citizens to remain calm as troops are already on the trail of the perpetrators of the attacks,”
