Tragedy again struck media professionals in Kogi State as the Head of Editorial, News and Current Affairs Department, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs Lucy Damian dies at the age of fifty.
Mrs Damian died in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.
It was gathered that late Lucy Damian celebrated her 50th birthday two weeks ago.
Her death is coming few months after two staff of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA in Kogi State, Abdulazeez Ajinomo and Mr Shola Adewuyi lost their lives.
Before her demise, Mrs Lucy Damian is an ex- official of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in the state.
Meanwhile, prominent journalists in Kogi State have expressed shocked over the sudden demise of the veteran journalist.
The current Executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kogi State Council led by its Chairman, Adeiza Momoh on Tuesday morning paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
He said late Mrs Lucy Damian would be greatly missed for her immense contributions towards promoting journalism profession in the state.
The immediate past chairman of the Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Ali Atabor described Mrs Damian as a complete woman who is honest and has used her position to impact positively on the younger ones around her.
Adding his voice, a colleague, Ernest Zhokwo described Lucy Damian as an outstanding journalist who relates with colleagues with all liberality.
He condoled the family urging them to bear the irreplaceable loss adding that they should understand the fact that death is an end for all mortal.
Late Mrs Damian joined the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation when the state was still under Benue State.
