Chief Mrs. Nike Okundaye, of Nike Art Gallery has commenced the training of fifty widows including young ladies from Kogi West Senatorial District on how to make adire, tie and die textiles.
Chief Nike of Nike Art Gallery, is one of the worlds leading Cultural Icons, Painter, Sculptor, Supporter of women, and preserver of Nigerian traditional cultural practices.
Similarly, Nike Art Gallery, features the most amazing and original African art collections from some of the renowned artists in West Africa.
The National President of Kogi Youths Alliance, Comr. Olufemi Temitope, made the disclosure about the training while speaking with Journalists in Lokoja at the weekend.
According to the National Coordinator, the Kogi Youths Alliance, nominated the selected trainees with the support of Engr Edward Meseko, a businessman, politician cum philanthropists, said the training is a two week Programme holding at Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu LGA of Kogi State.
The National Coordinator who expressed appreciation to Nike Arts Gallery for empowering the beneficiaries on skills acquisition, said the trainees would be offered free accommodation by Nike Art Gallery throughout the period of the training.
The training which started at the weekend according to the National Coordinator, is a way of equipping the beneficiaries to be self reliant.
The National Coordinator, said the participants who were provided with starter packs to enable them operate on their own would be presented with certificate of participation at the end of the training.
