High profile personalities of All Progressives Congress, APC, party executives and supporters from across the length and breadth of Omala Local Government stood the area to a stand still as they honoured the rally of the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. (Alh) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh and his running mate, Hon. Mrs. Ele-Ojo Faruna ahead of Saturday’s Council elections in Kogi state.
The APC Flag-bearer, Hon. (Alh) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh, elated with the turn out of party faithfuls, dignitaries and well wishers, thanked them for standing with him, his Vice, the APC and for believing in their quest for a better Omala.
He called on all to come out enmase to peacefully cast their votes for all APC candidates from the Chairman to councillors across the eleven wards of Omala.
Alhaji Aboh praised Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving the party a level playing field, guaranteed security and the good will for conducting local government election, describing the governor as a proponent of law and order and believer of grassroot politics and governance.
Among the dignitaries present include, Former DG, NASRDA, Pro. Seidu Ogah Mohammed, A.I.G Retrd, Abdulsalam Iyaji, Former H.O.S, Kogi State, Dr. Moses Atakpa, former SA to the Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Akoh Adaidu, Campaign coordinator and Hon. Alilu Awodi.
In their separate remarks and good will messages, Prof. Seidu Onalo Mohammed, AIG Retd, Abdulsalami Iyaji, Dr. Moses Atakpa among others passed a vote of confidence on Hon. (Alh) Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh, adding that he posseses all the qualities to qualify him as a Chairman, thereby declared absolute support for the Aboh/Ele-Ojo ticket, urged all sons and daughters of Omala to follow suit as they maintained that, the unity, peace, progress and development is pivotal, called on all to shun devisive tendencies and unite for the betterment of all.
The student organ was feasibly present to lend their voices, when the President, National Association of Kogi State Students, NAKOSS, Comrade Enyo-Ojo Stephen led delegations to the programme.
Spectators and observers in their views said the best description to portray today’s event in Omala Local Government is “the mother of all rallies”, saying nothing of such has been witnessed in recent times, with people willingly expressing ectstacy, declaring that it’s a pure win for Hon. Aboh/Ele-Ojo and APC in forthcoming poll, adding that, the show of love displayed by the thunderous crowd is a testament.
Some narrated that, Hon. Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh has set a pace that will stand a test of time, where there will be sharp contrast between Chairmanship race ‘contenders and pretenders’. The rest, they said will be left to pundits and political analyst to dissect and evaluate.
