No Armed Robbery At Akwa Ibom Government House, Says Aide

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State

Akwa Ibom state government has described as a blatant falsehood and sensational, the report othat armed robbers attacked government and carted away millions of Naira.

According to the Ekerete Udoh,Senior Special Assistant, Media/ Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Akwa Ibom State , the report was lacking in depth of thinking and understanding of the structure of government house.

He said Akwa Ibom Government House remains one of the most safe, secure and peaceful States in the Nation, a fact attested to, by Nigerians across the length and crannies of this country and top law enforcement professionals. It therefore, beats one’s imagination, almost incredulous for a writer to report that ” Robbers Attack Akwa Ibom Government House.”

“Government House or whatever other name such is called all over the world, remains the most safe and protected space. No hoodlum or armed robber would ever attempt to attack such a highly fortified place. Therefore, on the main layer, the story is a product of mischief, falsehood and utterly sensational, which is very sad to say the least.

He said that as a “proud member of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, a profession I have spent 35 uninterrupted years practicing both here and in the United States of America, I think it is very troubling, disappointing and shocking for any member of this great and noble profession to intentionally cast an alarmingly misleading headline aimed not to ennoble but to pull down the socio-political fabric of his or her State.”

He urged the public to dismiss “this asinine and obtuse story.”
