The Concerned Group of the All Progressive Congress, APC has accused the opposition People Democratic Party, PDP, of engaging in cheap blackmail because it had seen the handwriting of failure on the wall in October 31, 2020 upcoming Plateau Southern Senatorial bye-election.
The Spokesman of Plateau APC Concerned group while reacting to a publication credited to one Prince Miaphen Ignatius, which alleged that the APC had concluded plans to rig the election, was a fallacy which only exist in the imagination of the opposition PDP.
According to spokesman of the group, Morris Danladi, some of members of the opposition have been sponsored to disrupt the conduct of the by-election and turn around to blackmail Governor Simon’s Lalong leadership by accusing the same plan.
He said; “We can now see reason why they are not interested in smooth conduct of election and we vow to deploy security personnel during the election to curtail forthcoming rigging.”
The statement described the Plateau bye- election as a work over for the ruling APC because of the party overwhelming support given Lalong in 2015 and 2019 general elections.
