A Federal High Court sitting in Jos Division on Thursday adjourned to July, 6 for hearing in a suit instituted against the University of Jos and the Nigeria Army by 50 members of Naraguta village over illegal demotion of their houses.
The counsel to the Plaintiff ,Barr Badamasi Kabiru Adams during the Thursday’s sitting told the court that he has concluded services to the first and second defendants in accordance with law practice .
The first defendant, the University of Jos, was represented by counsel, Barr Nimnan Denden who told journalist that the matter is still pending before the State High Court over land encroachment by the settlers of Naraguta, adding that the university acquired the said landed property from a steel and melting company over 35 years ago .
Nimnan solicited for the extension of time to enable him reach out to the State High Court. This request was unanimously agreed before the presiding Judge, Justice Dorcas Agishi adjourned the suit to July 6.
