As Federal and State governments encourage investments in agriculture, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kaduna State command has assured of its preparedness to secure such investments in the State.
Commandant of Corps, Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma, made the disclosure after an inspection exercise to some Agro allied industries located in Kaduna State.
According to Dustinma, the command at the moment provides security to no fewer than 12 agricultural beats made-up of government and private ownership.
The Commandant had promised the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) and his counterpart in the Farmers’ Association of Nigeria on assumption of duty in the state in August last year to create a conducive security environment for agriculture to thrive in the state.
Following the training of over 150 Agro Rangers personnel as directed by our Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, we have the capacity and will discharge our duties effectively in protecting wise investments in agriculture, Dutsinma added.
The Commandant called on residents of the state to collaborate with the corps in this area, noting that security is a collective responsibility and should not been seen as an exclusive duty.
Speaking earlier, the Command’ s Head of Agro Rangers, ACC Ogiri Adekpe who represented State Commandant during the inspection tour, expressed optimism that with support of all and sundry, the menace of rustling, banditry among other things affecting agriculture investments would be curtailed.
Some of the locations visited on the first day include Golden Acres Limited along Kaduna- Abuja Express Way, Funage Farms, National Food Reserve Agency, Dino Agriculture Diaries and Federal Ministry of Agriculture Development Project.
