Edo APC Ready for Reconciliation

Gov Obaseki and National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole

A faction in the crisis-ridden Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has waved an olive branch and laid out conditions for reconciliation.

According to its publicity secretary, Pastor Joseph Osagiede in a press briefing at the party secretariat in Benin-City on Monday, the ceasefire must be done by a neutral body, either the Presidency or the Benin traditional council.

The neutral bodies, he said, are uninterested parties to the lingering conflict between the loyalists to the state government and National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

He said; “A neutral body from the presidency or Benin traditional council can set up a committee for reconciliation.

“I think the APC crisis is already ending because we know that EPM is already folding up; we know that the members of EPM are also reaching out to us”. EPM is Edo People’s Movement a brae-out faction of the party.

Osagiede said it was expected that the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole should heed to the wish of the Oba of Benin, Ewuare 11 who had called for peace to reign.

“The Oba’s wish is that there should be peace and for Oshiomhole to still be supporting EPM, he is working against the wish of the Oba.

“The National Chairman should take a cue from the Oba and come home, meet with the governor and take him to the Oba and say we have reconciled.”
