… Southwest NEMA To Collaborate With the State

As 20 returnees from South Africa will be coming to Oyo State, the state government has expressed its preparedness to make lives comfortable for them by providing them with basic needs.
The Executive Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Luqman Aransi, told journalists that the state had started planning for their reception while provision has been made to make lives meaningful them.
“Oyo State has started planning for them. Immediately they get to the airport, we are going to get their data. We will try to know what they have been doing over there. We will provide accommodation for them. We will resettle them to better their condition so that what had happened to them will not destabilize them. We have to look for the means of sustaining them and provide feeding for them”, the SEMA chief said, adding that those of school age would be sent to school.
Aransi urged parents to properly train their children and equip them with vocational skills so that they would be able to tap into the nation’s abundant resources, saying, “Nigeria is blessed”.
Also, the Southwest Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Slaku Lugard Bijimi, said the agency would cooperate with SEMA to make life meaningful for the returnees.
“Airtime will be given to them. We will give them a sense of belonging to enable them settle down and sustain them. They must be taken care of. Their coming back will add value to the state economy. We will do everything to manage them. We will collaborate with the state”, the NEMA Coordinator said.
