The Flying Eagles’ hope of winning the elusive U20 World Cup for the first time came crashing down in Lodz on Monday after Senegal beat them 2-1 in the championship.
With goals from Amadou Sagna-inspired and Ibrahim Niane, the Young Lions were able to tame the Flying Eagles, who managed to pull one back through Anekeme Okon, but it was a mere consolation.
Senegal which had topped their Group in the opening rounds of the game has booked a quarter final ticket in the tournament.
