200 Rescued, Policemen, Soldiers and NSCDC man Killed In Plateau.

At least 200 people have been rescued on Thursday by securitymen drafted to the scene of hostilities between Fulani /Irigwe of Bassa LGA of Plateau State as one National Security and Civil Defence Corps member, NSCDC, has been killed and with 12 buried in mass grave.

Alongside the NSCDC victim, CAIII Solomon Shadrach Nankap, are two soldiers and two policemen who died in a gun battle with the gunmen that invaded the Irigwe settlements in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Olasupo Solomon said the influx of unknown persons who wore army camouflage are now perpetuating all manner of heinous crime against the civilian settlements in the state .

According to him, about “100 additional NSCDC were yesterday evening were redeployed to Dusa kura to mount security surveillance and watch the area when our men discovered influx of foreigners suspected to terrorist armed with dangerous weapons occupying the surrounding rocks from where they come down in the night to raids villages”

He confirmed the death of Solomon Shadrach Nankap and described it as gruesome as his attackers

“ cut off his head, hands and removed some organs then took away his ammunitions and gun including his cap .

“I called on the government officials to know that the terrorist created a hole inside the rocks as hiding places for them, so I invite concern citizens to visit the area and see for themselves .

“We are not relenting in our effort towards protection of lives and properties from the hands of hoodlums ,we can’t fold our arms to allow this evil to continue”
