The Vice-Chairman of the Federal Government Extended Special Public Works Programme, Oyo State Selection Committee, Rt. Hon. Olagunju Ojo, has challenged analysts on newspaper review radio programmes in Ibadan to speak with facts about of the Special Public Works programme, urging all commentators to get their facts right before going on air.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, Ojo who was reacting to comments by an analyst on the radio station said all guidelines for the selection of beneficiaries would be duly followed to benefit all qualified candidates in the state.
He charged all Nigerians who have the opportunity to speak in the public domain to always checks facts and ensure objectivity in order to engage in a healthy discourse that enhances development.
Ojo, who is the immediate-past Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, said the forms for the jobs in the state would soon be out ,assuring the people of the state that the committee under the chairmanship of Ope Salami would discharge its responsibility with utmost fairness.
According to him, the 36 state Selection Committees were inaugurated by the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyemo (SAN), on on June 29 and that of Oyo State has Hon. Ope Salami as Chairman, Olagunju Ojo, vice-chairman and Oyo State NDE Director as Secretary.
That of Oyo State was inaugurated on July 17,2020 at the Federal Secretariat, Ibadan. There are 17 other members in the selection committee, among whom are the representative of Oyo State Governor Rev.Idowu Ogedengbe, traditional leaders, representatives of Christian and Muslim communities ,youths, women and transporters.
