Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan representing Kogi West Senatorial District has admonished political gladiators to desist from the temptation of igniting violence and intimidation of voters, before, during and after the upcoming 2027 general elections in the country.
The Senator who made the appeal while speaking at the Kogi People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders meeting in Lokoja over the weekend, stressed the need for political gladiators to play the game by the rules.
She also pleaded with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide level play ground for the candidates of all political parties during the polls.
“Politicians should endeavor to embrace political battle devoid of killings, intimidation and destruction
“The game should be played in a manner that would give room for voters to come out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise without fear” Natasha said
She advised party members to be vigilant in protecting the party’s victory by ensuring that votes casts at each polling unit within their constituencies are not tampered with.
She commended the return of some party chieftains who earlier left because of one grievance or the other and urged them to redouble their efforts with other members to ensure that PDP emerge victorious at the polls.
“We as party leaders would not relent in our efforts to ensure total reconciliation of all aggrieved members to boost unity, peace and team work for the success of PDP in Kogi” Natasha assured
Earlier, Kogi PDP Chairman, Mohammed Gambo promised of effective mobilization of eligible voters to cast their votes for all the candidates of the party.
He expressed the confidence that PDP will reclaim Kogi state in the upcoming election as necessary measures and strategies have been put in place to achieve the goal.
He urged party members to remain focused and committed in their contributions for the victory of the party at the polls.
