2023: Don’t Come To Us, Kinsmen Tell Kalu

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu

Political leaders of Nneato clan in Umunneochi local government area have told the Senate chief whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu not to come to them to campaign for any office in the 2023 general election.

The leaders stated this while the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District was inspecting some ongoing projects he attracted in the clan, saying the projects have already done the campaigning for him.

The projects include Ubahu-Akawa-Aroikpa 2-kilometre road with drainage on both sides, rehabilitation of a classroom block at Eziama Community School, and a motorized water borehole project at Ezioba Community.

The leaders include, Emmanuel Igwe, Mr Arinze Ettie, and the founder of United Nneato Political Forum, Hon. Charles Ugochukwu Onu, who could not hide his joy for the projects and thanked the chief whip for them.

Reacting to the water project, Ettie said, “This is the first public borehole in this community. The borehole will service our health center. It will also stop our people from going to the stream to fetch water.”

He said, “Kalu has done a lot for our community. He gave us a good road which we are still using today when he was governor. He also empowered many of our sons and daughters in politics.

In his response, the onetime governor of the state said it was for this purpose that he went to the Senate to continue from when he stopped when he left the office in 2007 after a second term.

He therefore called on the people to sustain their support for the party and President Muhammad Buhari, who he maintained has taken the country to another level in infrastructure development and service delivery.
