Two persons have been shot dead by gunmen at Aji Community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State.
Reports say the gunmen who disguised as traders in a lorry loaded with goods suddenly opened fire on unsuspecting persons on arrival at the busy Eke Ozzi market in the community.
Apart from the two who died instantly during the attack, many others sustained injuries while a number of vehicles were destroyed by the attackers. The injured have been taken to the hospital.

Enugu, like other states in Nigeria’s South-east, had been in the storm of violent attacks recently, forcing the Governor, Ifeanyi Uguanyi to impose a dusk -to -dawn curfew on two local governments, where clashes have led to the violent related deaths.
The attacks like it is happening in many other four Southeast states, are targeted at security officials and government facilities, have been attributed to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and armed wing the Eastern Security Network, ESN.
