The ongoing Intra-Africa Trade Fair in Cairo got a big boost Thursday as Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, led a delegation of Nigerians into the fair arena in Cairo. The delegation include Mr Okechukwu Enelama, Minister of Trade and Investment, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state and other government officials
There are over 100 Nigerian exhibition stand with ranges of Nigerian products and services which are being showcased for export.
The Vice-President and his team will later today deliver a keynote address at the Central venue within the Cairo city centre.
On the sideline of the Nigeria day, a gallery of Nigeria musical presentation from D’Banj, Femi Kuti, Davido and other young musicians from the country whose music would be veritable export materials to African countries as trade component would be performing at the event all day.
Africans would be expecting if Osinbajo would water the trading ground for Africans by announcing Nigeria’s endorsement of the popular the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, ACFTA, which President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to sign, citing some fears bordering on dumping of goods in his country perceived to be the target of many quantum manufacturers in Africa.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo had slammed the African presidents at the opening of the event on Tuesday, especially the Nigerian government over their failure to sign the agreement, ahead of many Africa countries. Obasanjo is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of ACFTA.
