A group under the aegis of Plateau Concerned Youth has condemned the allegations of maladministration made against the clerk of the Plateau State House of Assembly, PLSHA, Mr Ponven Wuyep by those they descrided as ‘faceless’ and called for clarification of his role according to civil service rules to unravel what they described them as “unfounded, baseless allegations that are capable of destroying the wheel of progress in the state.”
In a press statement, the group frowned at those perpetuators it described as enemies of the state coming with their bias and lopsided view to misled citizens and promote their selfish agenda .
The spokesman of the group ,Comrade Danjuma Abdullahi also urged media to always verify their fact before going to press “because some people are bent on tainting to good name of the state House of Assembly.”
He disclosed that under the PLSHA Service commission there are various head of departments such as directors who are responsible for the holding meetings and briefing their departments, while the Clerk is only in charge of administration of the House.
Abdullahi accused a fraction of the house of Assembly staff for misleading the general public with the issue of qualification of the present clerk ,Mr Ponven Wuyep .
“We refer those who are interested in knowing what the law says about the qualification of the PLSHA Assembly Service Commission which explain vividly that any officer heading the house of Assembly most be a staff from level 9 officer and above”, he said.
” As concerned Youths, we charge anyone who cares to know to investigate the modus operandi on how a clerk or the deputy clerk of the house can be appointed to head such a lucrative position when it come to civil service rules in Nigeria.
How can Mr Ponven Wuyep who rose through rank of a chief legislative level officer and he is now been named and described as someone that doesn’t have the prerequisite require qualification to do his job as a Clerk of the House?, he queries.
Further enquiries at the Assembly Service Commission yielded no result as no official was ready to make any comment on the grounds that they were statute bared from speaking to the press.
