Workers were forced to evacuate on Monday morning as a fire raged through part of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in the Federal Secretariat, sparking panic across the complex.

The blaze occurred in Section C of the building, where the Office of the Head of Service operates. Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed at about 8:20 a.m., with flames becoming more visible around 8:30 a.m.

The incident triggered an immediate response from the Federal Fire Service, whose personnel were deployed to contain and extinguish the blaze. Workers evacuated nearby offices as safety measures were activated, while emergency responders worked swiftly to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

Authorities later confirmed that emergency teams were on site, managing the situation and assessing the extent of damage in the affected section.

In a statement, the media department of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation said: “The fire outbreak is limited to Section C of the building and is currently being attended to by emergency officials.”

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no official statement has yet been issued on the scale of damage or potential losses. Emergency teams continue efforts to bring the situation under control.
