The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State Senator General Jeremiah Timbut Useni has revealed how Governor Nyesom Wike reconciled the two factions in the state during a visit to the state recently.
Senator Useni who was addressing his faction said the meeting he held with Governor Wike was fruitful because “we met at my resident and discussed so many vital issues from there he went back and met the former Governor Jonah David Jang in court and I was later invited to Jang’s house for dialogue.n the state called for the unity of the party in Plateau State and the country as he assured supporters that leaders are working towards genus reconciliation .
Briefing his factions ,Useni urged them to remain calm and work for victory of the PDP in the bye -election in Jos North /Bassa Federal constituency and Pankshin South House of Assembly seats, scheduled to hold on the 26th February, 2022 .
The dignitaries who attended the meeting included Hon .Emmanuel Magni, Rt Hon Emmanuel Go’ar, Rt.Hon. Mike Dapialong , Hon. Damishi Sango , Hon.Na’Allah Butbam , Rt Hon Titus Alams , Hon. Nuhu Gagara,Hon.Aminu Zang , Hon.Amos Gombi and many others .
Sen.Jeremiah Useni explained further that “there was no crises or faction existing in the PDP since they have all agreed to disagreed on some sharing formula within the party, period.”
He said, “We all met in Jang’s house and I saw a crowd waiting and I never knew that the peace maker was going to invite many members of PDP including Jang’s supporters for the reconciliation .
“We couldn’t finish the final meeting and the former governor told us that he brought the party to Plateau state under the platforms of the G18,G34,and G39 and had governed the state for eight years. But we insisted that those that won their elections into the exco of the party and were denied their tenure should be brought back for peace to reign.”
Useni disclosed that the PDP ” doesn’t belong to one person; it belongs to all of us. We have accepted to let go but we still insisted that the damage done by imposition of Chris Hassan led Exco should not remain in office.
“However, all this long delay in resolving the crisis arise from the appeal court which is still pending that cause the unnecessary delay.”
He urged his supporters to remain calm as the “templates used as sharing formula is underway while we have to unite all aggrieved members and asked them to forgive and forget.”
Sen.Jeremiah Useni added that “the matter was being handled at higher level,” and pleaded with members to “stand firm and take your position in the party.”
The former Speaker in the state ,Rt.Emmanuel Goar , saluted Senator Useni for his recovery from ailment, adding that everyone has been briefed on the recent developments in the party by various leaders of PDP across wards and LGAs. He urged the leaders to support the recent move towards unity in the party and promote peace by supporting the party structures.
Goar stated that the plateau people are yearning for change and charged the PDP to demonstrate their recent reconciliation by working together to clinch the upcoming bye- elections.
He stressed that PDP would bounce back so we have go with genus reconciliation, cooperation to take advantage because the odd of electioneering campaign is favouring us that is what our political leaders are spending sleepless night to achieve .
Former PDP Chairman in the state ,Hon .Damishi Sango said “the internal crises will soon be put behind us the party is working hard to ensure that peace return.” He explained that stakeholders are coming together to build block of unity .
