The Plateau State Government has disclosed that the monthly allocations from the Federation Account Goes for servicing of debts accumulated by the immediate past administration.
The Secretary to State Government, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau disclosed that Plateau State Government still remitting outstanding 250 million Naira as debt to pay every month after all the money accrual to it from the monthly allocations from the Federation account are deducted in the services of loans left by past administration.
Speaking at Rayfield at the weekend in Jos South LGA during an audience with media, the SSG said servicing the debts was reason for the lack of money responsible for the slow pace of completion of ongoing projects by the Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s led administration as the huge amount is taken by the bank
He further stated that the government has resorted to blocking all leakages in the system so that money will be available to execute many projects in the state.
Jatau added that the state government generated not less than N3 billion every month from Internally Generated Revenue following the blockage of loopholes in the area of revenue generation.
On the issues of cushioning the suffering of the masses in the State, Arc. Jatau disclosed that apart from the fertilizers that have been distributed to farmers, more than two hundred and fifty bags of fertilizers are still expected for onward distribution to farmers in the state.
He further disclosed that the administration has concluded it plan to procure solar driving tricycles for the Jo’s Bukuru Metropolis.
The SGS called on the citizenry irrespective of tribes and religions differences, to embrace one another in peace and harmony for the sustainability of the Plateau government’s plan for good governance and inclusivity.
