WHO: World COVID-19 Cases increased by 80% in July

 

The World Health Organisation has alerted health institutions and countries about the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases worldwide with an 80 per cent increase in the month of July alone.

According to the global health organisation the coming and spread of the new Delta Variant, has shown that the global pandemic was waxing stronger.

In a statement, WHO has just released, it said in part “… an increase of 80% of COVID cases was recorded in the month of July….countries that have previously scaled down the virus and had opened up to economic activities , like China, US and other major European Countries, are now embarking on new restrictions…. the province of Jiangsu in China, is now heading for a lockdown “,

“Japan, currently hosting the global Olympic, is today, recording neck breaking infection cases, with the Prime Minister calling on people to watch the tournament at home…… in Africa, the death cases have doubled within this 1 month of July and the continent is likely not to reach the 10% target of vaccination set by WHO by September 2021, due to acute vaccine shortages , WHO statement concluded
