We’ll Demystify APC, Bende Deputy LGA Chair boasts

Deputy Chairman, Bende Local Government Council, Chidiebere Asonye has boasted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would demystify the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area in the 2019 general election.

Asonye stated this while speaking to our correspondent in his office at the end of the inauguration ceremony of the council area chapter of the Hope for All Organisation in Bende, the council headquarters.

He said as far as the area was concerned, the APC had remained, “only in the air and not among the people”, adding that nevertheless the PDP was ready to confront it in any electoral contest without fear.

“We are not intimidated by the presence of some expired political heavyweights in the APC. What matters is who has the grassroots to itself. Come 2019, we will prove again that we are on ground in the area,” he added.

Speaking earlier at the Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu Multi-Purpose Hall at the headquarters, Asonye assured the members of the organisation of the commitment of the council to acheiving its set objects in the area.

He commend activities of the organisation which is an off-shoot of Vicar Hope Foundation, a pet project of the wife of the state governor, Deaconess Nkeci Ikpeazu, assuring the members of the council’s support.

Speaking earlier, the National Coordinator of the organisation, Innocent Ozuruigbo eulogised the wife of the governor for her interventions, which he said had brought hope to both the vulnerable and the less privilleged in the state.

He solicited the support of the people for the second term bid of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to ” further implement his developmental programmes and projects in the state which have started yielding,” he said.

Similarly, the area Coordinator of the organisation, Ibuchim Okorie said the it is tailored toward rendering succour to members of the society and strengthening the political structure of the governor.
