The Voice of Nigeria, VON, Annual French Drama Competition for Secondary schools in Nigeria will hold from 11th to 13th May, 2021 in Abuja.
The Director Genaral, VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu, said in Abuja, that the goal of organising the competition was to advance the frontiers of French language in Nigeria and beyond.
“This is to enhance to its fullest the potentials of children in terms of cognitive and creative learning”.
According to Okechukwu, it is our considered view that nurturing versatile students is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
“Therefore, this competition will be a win-win for all and will also be sustained on annual basis”
The competition was conceived by National Youth Service Corps members led by Isaac John, in 2019.
Isaac John disclosed that about 25 Secondary schools across Nigeria have confirmed their readiness to participate in the VON annual French Drama Competition, 2021.
Various prizes will be won by the best three Secondary Schools to be decided by eminent and impartial Judges.
French is among the eight languages of broadcast in Voice of Nigeria. Other languages are English, Arabic, Hausa, Fulfude, Ki-Swahili, Yoruba and Igbo.
