Two students of the Plateau State University, Bokkos, 12 others in Tilengpat, Pushit and Mangu Local Government Area, and another eight in Bokkos, LGAs, are feared dead following a tragic attack that occurred last night.

The tragic attack in Chikam, a community neighbouring Plateau State University Bokkos, resulted in the loss of 200 Level Computer Science students
Governor Caleb Mutfwang has appealed for calm, Saying that the security agencies are working to restore normalcy.
While condemning the attack as barbaric, Governor Mutfwang reassured citizens, particularly students, of the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding their lives and property.
The governor urged them to remain composed in the face of the tragedy, as government is determined to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the heinous acts.
Governor Mutfwang stressed the importance of collaboration among the university management, students, community leaders, and security agencies for enhanced security and the safety of everyone in the area.
He commended the swift response of security agencies to violent incident, and encouraged them to remain steadfast in fulfilling their constitutional duty to protect innocent citizens.
He stressed the need for community vigilance and cooperation to combat criminal activities and bring perpetrators and their accomplices to justice.
The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased student and all those affected by the incident, praying for the swift recovery of the injured. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering peace and security across the state, according to Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Plateau State Governor, Gyang Bere in a statement made available to our correspondent in Jos
Meanwhile, the Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Diket Plang met with local leaders, community members, and security officials to assess the situation and offer support to the affected families.
He expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in the region and pledged to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of the people of Plateau Central.
Sen. Plang called for an immediate investigation into the incident and urged the community to remain calm and vigilant while security agencies work to apprehend the perpetrators.
He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to restore peace and stability in the area.
The senator assured the community of his unwavering commitment to addressing the root causes of the violence and implementing measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
He promised to advocate for increased security presence and support for affected communities in Plateau Central.

Speaking to the matter, Alfred Alabo the PPRO spokesperson confirmed the incident, adding that they are still filing report as the Commissioner of Police just concluded his visit to the scene .
