UEFA: Spurs Tame Olympiakos, Bayern Maul Red Star B, PSG Hold R/ Madrid, Juve Win, City Draw

 

Tottenham Hot spurs vs Olympiakos, 4-2

Snail slow Tottenham roared in the second half to smash visiting Olympiakos, who had opened scoring at the 6^th min and doubled the goals 12 mins later, through El-Arabi and Ruben Semedo, who smashed into the net a failed pass by the defence.

But at the brink of the first half, Spurs woke up from slumber with a Dele Alli goal and never looked back again with the return in the second, pumping in goals through Harry Kane, in the 50^th , Aurier in the 73^rd and a Kane header in 77^th min from an Eriksen free-kick.

 

Real Madrid vs PSG, 2-2

Sarabia, middle, passed ball confused Courtios leading to the first goal for PSG before he scored the equalizer.

This match looked like a Madrid win considering the easy with which they sliced into PSG defence, ISCO, Valverde and Carvajal, leading to a Karim Benzema brace, knocking in a rebound ball in the 18^th min and nodding in a powerful header in the 80^th min. The game turned in the next 10 minutes. In their zeal, Madrid made a mistake in the defence which Kyliam Mbappe seized in the 82^nd min to pull one back. In the 84^th min, Pablo Sarabia, the player whose ball caused the confusion for defender Varane and keeper Courtois, latched on to a loose ball in the box and smashed home the equalizer. PSG tops the table with 13 points , followed by Madrid with 8 points. Both have qualified, Madrid following  Club Brugge draw with Galatasaray in their match.

Red Star Brigade vs Bayern Munchem, 0-6

 

Talismanic Lewandowski scored a haul, first in the 53^rd min through a penalty,in  60^th, then 64^th , and 67^th min with Goretzka opening scoring with a header in the 14^th from a Phillipe Courtinho cross, and Tollisso in the 89^th min, with a smashing kick into the net. The combination of the trio of Courtinho, Tollisso, Perisic and Lewandowski was amazing and too devastating for the Red star boys. It was a cruise for the visitors. Bayern, already qualified, heads Group B with 15 points followed by Tot Spurs with 10 points.

 

Juve Vs Atletico, 1-0

Juve Free-kick scorer Dybala soar away

 

Paulo Dybala 45+2 min first half goal from a superb free-kick, curled pass keeper Oblak sealed Atletico’s fate in a tightly contested encounter that could have gone either way. Juve, which have already qualified for the round of 16, tops the table with 13 points while Atletico tags along with 7 points in Group D.

 

ManCity vs Shakhtar Donesk, 1-1,

City leads Group C with 11 points followed at a distance by S Donetsk with 6 points. City beat Donetsk 3-0 in their away match and have qualified for the round of 16.

 

Atalanta vs Dinamo Zagreb, 2-0. Out of the round of 16

 

Locomotive Moscow vs Leverkusen, 0-2. Out of the round of 16

 

Galatasary vs Club Brugge, 1-1

The draw by both teams ensured the qualification of Real Madrid, even though the Spanish giants drew their match with PSG.
