US President Donald Trump Friday hosted two two Chibok women who were kidnapped by the Nigerian Islamist militants Boko Haram alongside 274 others in April 2014. They are Joy Bishara and Lydia Pogu.
The White House refused to give details of the meeting but published the photograph, which included the President, his wife daughter Ivanka and some staff.
The photograph was published on the White House Facebook page, saying it was “photo of the day” on 28 June.
Joy, 20, and Lydia, 19, had escaped from Boko Haram den in 2014 and arrived the United States in August with the help of Jubilee Campaign, a human rights group in Virginia.
The NGO put them in boarding school for two years in Virginia before transferring last summer to the Canyonville Christian Academy, a boarding school in Oregon, drawing students from around the world.
This June, the girls graduated and would soon attend college at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
