Troops Kill Dreaded Terrorist Kingpin Yellow Danbokkolo, Eight Boko Haram/ ISWAP Terrorists

Dreaded terrorist kingpin, Yellow Danbokkolo, has died, having succumbed to gunshot wounds inflicted on him by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

Danbokkolo sustained serious gunshot wounds during a fierce encounter last week, following an intelligence-led operation by troops in conjunction with Hybrid Forces supported by Air Components and other security agencies.

Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, disclosed that Danbokkolo succumbed to the injuries on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Yellow Danbokkolo is believed to have been much more dreaded than Bello Turji, as he masterminded the December 2021 arson on travellers in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during which all the passengers were burnt to death.

He is also said to have lived on endless bouts of pentazocine to enable him sustain his cruelty and heinous activities.

“Our exultant troops of Operation FASAN YAMA with this renewed resolve are on the hunt for Bello Turji, who has been in hiding. The Armed Forces of Nigeria is committed to restoring normalcy in all parts of the country and, therefore, calls for the cooperation of all Nigerians in this drive”, Kangye assured.

Also, troops of Operation Hadin Kai on joint fighting patrol with elements of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces (HF), have neutralised eight Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Manawaji in Gamboru Ngala LGA of Borno State.

The on Tuesday, said several weapons and ammunition of the dead and fleeing terrorists were also recovered.

“At about 5:30pm on June 30, 2025, brave troops of Operation Hadin Kai on joint fighting patrol with elements of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces (HF) made contact with Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Manawaji in Gamboru Ngala LGA of Borno State.

“Troops successfully attacked and eliminated 8 terrorists during the fierce firefight. Several weapons and ammunition of the dead and fleeing terrorists were also recovered.

“Own troops, CJTF and HF did not sustain any casualties. The general security situation in the area remains calm but fluid”, the statement read.
