From Victor Osula, Abuja

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amechi
The Ministry of Transportation has clarified statements Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amechi, was quoted to have said about Nigerians making contribution towards the treatment of hospitalised survivors of the Monday night Abuja-Kaduna bound train attack by terrorists.
The Ministry described as false the statement, attributed to the Minister, that “Nigerians to liaise with the hospital management and see how much they can contribute to the treatment of the patients.”
Mr Eric Ojekwe, Director of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry said the correct version of the recorded statement of what the Minister said was that, “I have said to the Nigerian Railway Corporation to liaise with the hospital management and see how much they can contribute for the treatment of the patients.”
Ojewke said the Minister made the statement on Wednesday 30 in Kaduna where he had gone to visit the patients at 44 Army Reference Hospital and St. Gerald’s Catholic Hospital.
