Man United skipper, Maguire heads in an equaliser late in the second half before an own goal sealed their hopes
EPL title- chasing Manchester crumbled before relegation bound Sheffield United in their match at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, 1-2.
In fact it looked like a comic encounter with the teams, Man U looking good to reclaimed the top spot it ceded to city rival Manchester City, which has a goal in hand, while the bottom team, Sheffield caused a most unlikely stunning upset with the major victory for the season at Old Trafford.
All Man U needed was a win and the resulting three points from the match but they were a bundle of nerves and allowed Sheffield to pick their second win in the season.
The visiting Blades took a shock first-half lead through Kean Bryan header, which went in off the far post following John Fleck’s corner, in the 23rd minutes.
Anthony Martial’ effort was ruled our for offside until defender Harry Maguire headed in the equaliser far deep into the second half at the 64th minute.
Then with 16 minutes to go, Sheffield got the winner through a Manchester United error. failed to clear Oliver Burke scored an own goal, trying to clear a deflection off Axel Tuanzebe.
Sheffield still remains seating pretty at the bottom of the table with 10 points but it was a massive win and morale booster for the team. Meanwhile Manchester United remain second
