President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday undertake a one-day official visit to Kebbi State, where he is scheduled to inaugurate key projects executed by Governor Nasir Idris.
In a statement issued on Friday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu would also serve as Special Guest of Honour at the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival.
The festival, one of Africa’s most prominent cultural events, is held along the historic Matan Fada riverside, recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity site.
The Argungu Festival attracts visitors from across Nigeria and beyond, featuring traditional fishing contests, music, dance and exhibitions of local crafts. Over the years, it has evolved into a platform for cultural diplomacy, tourism promotion and economic activity in the region.
According to the Presidency, the visit reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting state-driven development initiatives and promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce federal-state collaboration, highlight Kebbi State’s infrastructure strides and project Nigeria’s cultural heritage to a global audience.
