President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of three ambassadors-designate to key diplomatic missions, out of the 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate last December.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President okayed the deployment of Ambassador Ayodele Oke as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to France, Colonel Lateef Are as ambassador-designate to the United States of America, and Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, former envoy to South Korea, as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.
In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu directed the ministry to notify the governments of the three countries in line with established diplomatic procedures.
The postings are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s bilateral relations with major partners and enhance diplomatic engagements in Europe and North America.
