President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’ s Sunday dawn broadcast has sparked-off fresh protests in Farin-Gada, Angwan Rogo suburbs of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
For many of the protesters in Jos, the state capital, who had waited for the address, fell short of what they wanted to hear about reduction in fuel prices and foodstuffs.
Thus on Sunday afternoon many protesters began assembling in difference locations to demonstrate their disappointment.
Mass movement of security agencies was seen on their way to the scene of the protesters.
Earlier, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang had commended the peaceful conduct of the protesters in a statement by the Commissioner for information and communication, Hon.Musa Ashom .
On Friday, hoodlums who tried to hijack the peaceful protest were foiled by the security agencies around terminus market and it’s environs but the situation became tougher on Sunday after the President’s broadcast as they accused him of abandoning the plight of the people.
According to many of the protesters them, the broadcast ” has no meaningful agenda for the people of Nigeria as the economic hardship becomes bad daily .
The protesters claimed that they’re not sponsored by anyone but the situation pushed them to the streets to display their grievances.
