
President Bola Tinubu has approved more appointments to fill existing vacancies in the Governing Councils of various federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Chidi Nwogu from Imo State was appointed to the African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja, while Dr. Folashade Kareem from Kwara State was named to the Governing Council of the University of Jos, Plateau State.
Dipe Adeniyi from Lagos State was appointed to the Federal University of Technology, Ikot-Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, and Akanimo Umoh from Akwa Ibom State to the Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State.
Babatunde Jinadu from Lagos State was appointed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State. Chijioke Okeifufe from Enugu State was named to the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.
Babatunde Olokun from Ogun State and Isah Ambaka from Nasarawa State were both appointed to the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, while Dr. Olusegun Ategbole from Ondo State was named to the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.
To the Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State, Isa Song from Adamawa State and Bernard Miko from Rivers State were appointed. Muyideen Balogun from Ogun State was named to the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State.
Mayegun Yomi from Lagos State was appointed to the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State, while Abbas Braimah from Edo State was named to the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State.
Dr. Adebimpe Adebajo from Ondo State was appointed to the Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State, and Bawa Bwari from Niger State to the Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Borno State.
At the Federal University of Health Sciences, Katsina State, Bello Bagudu from Kebbi State and Nasarawa Mani from Katsina State were named to the council.
In the polytechnic category, Shehu Kagara from Kaduna State was appointed to the Federal Polytechnic, Isuochi, Abia State, while Dr. Francis Ogbise from Bayelsa State was named to the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.
Almajiri Geidam from Yobe State was appointed to the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno, Borno State; Rahila Ilegbodu from Taraba State to the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, Delta State; and Shehu Lambu from Kano State to the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Edo State.
Yusuf Mai-Adua from Sokoto State was named to the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo, Gombe State; Saleh Mohammed from Jigawa State to Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa State; and Adekola Aliu from Osun State to the Federal Polytechnic, Daura, Katsina State.
Waidi Ayinla from Osun State was appointed to the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State; Hashimu Abdullahi from Sokoto State to the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak, Plateau State; and Abdullahi Abubakar (At Ningi) from Bauchi State to the Federal Polytechnic, Bali, Taraba State.
In the Colleges of Education, Ibrahim Geidam from Yobe State was named to the Federal College of Education, Gwoza, Borno State; Mohammed Nura from Kebbi State to the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau State; and Abdulkadir Global from Kaduna State to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu, Ebonyi State.
Usman Balkore from Sokoto State was appointed to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Edo State, while Goodluck Opiah from Imo State was named to the Federal College of Education, Odugbo, Benue State.
At the Federal College of Education, Omoku, Rivers State, Bassey Etim from Akwa Ibom State, Chris Eta from Cross River State, and Shuaib Yahaya from Katsina State were appointed.
Sani Anka from Zamfara State was named to the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State; Yusuf Dikko from Jigawa State to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Keana, Nasarawa State; and Deacon Taiye from Kwara State to the Federal College of Education, Ilawe, Ekiti State.
Isa Doro from Katsina State was appointed to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Delta State.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
