Surgeons: Evidence Linking Sexual/ Frequent Ejaculation to Prostrate Cancer Inconclusive

 

 

The Association of Urological Surgeons in Nigeria has waded into viral social media reports that link prostrate cancer to infrequent sexual/ ejaculation, saying there are no conclusive evidence on the matter.

President and Secretary General of the association, Prof N K Dakum and Prof  Mohamed Ahmed said “while there are studies suggesting a potential association between frequent ejaculation and reduced prostate cancer risk, the evidence is not yet conclusive and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between the two.”

They called for caution in the interpretation of available evidence, warning that there is no established means of prostate cancer prevention except through early screening for early detection remains the best approach.
