A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has urged Nigerians to shun sharp electoral fraud of vote buying in an election and ensure that they make wise choice of candidates that would bring development to the door step of citizens.
He told delegates of the party in the state heading for the presidential primaries soon not to make money their focus and sell their conscience, but rather, they should focus on candidates that will bring about growth and development of the country.
Bafarawa, gave the charge to delegates of the PDP from Kogi while in Lokoja on Tuesday to solicit their support ahead of the party’s delegates Congress.
While stressing that his words are his bond, the former governor of Sokoto state, said as governor he made human capital development his priority, urging the people to support his aspiration as every promised made would be fulfilled.
He promised to make the unity of the country his focus, advised those clamoring for restructuring to seek for unity, pointing out that the nation had been restructured through the creation of state’s and local government areas.
While describing the security of the nation as a collective responsibility of all, he assured of new strategies that would help secure the country from insurgents and other crimes.
He promised massive investment in the education and health sector, saying that he is not a politician who makes unfulfilled promises.
In his remarks, the Kogi State PDP Chairman, Engr Sam Uhuotu, described the politics of Alh. Attahiru Bafarawa as one centred on human capital development and commended the aspirant for always identifying with the people in times of challenges.
The PDP Chairman urged the aspirant to address the decay and level of impunity currently being witnessed in the country, urging him to salvage the north from the current lack of leadership.
The state chairman called on the aspirants to form a common front in making consensus and elect a credible candidate for the forthcoming presidential election, pointing out that the north is now made a laughing stock, but can be salvaged when the right candidate emerge as the party’s flag bearer.
