Abia State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade has assured the people of the state that security agencies in the state would continue to ensure the protection of their lives and property despite their challenges.
Oyebade stated this while speaking to our correspondent at the end of the quarterly road walk by the security agencies at the Central Police Station (CPS) in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said the walk is one of the avenues where the agencies meet, plan together, share ideas, review their records and strategies and map out the way forward in their duties.
“As you are aware, we need to be fit mentally, physically, and medically to be able to carry our duties and assignments to the satisfaction of the society,” the commissioner added.
Commending men and officers of the agencies for turning out for the walk, Oyebade solicited the cooperation of the people in ridding the society of crimes and criminality.
The agencies were State Security Service (SSS); Kamoju Korede, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS; Eric Mbaraonye, and Nigeria Prison Service (NPS); Sylvester Ayoka.
Others were Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC); Linus Ojukwu, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC); Benito Eze, and Nigeria Police (NP) Leye Oyebade.
The walk, which was tagged, “Together we are” took place along select major streets in the capital under the watchful eyes of a team of medical personnel.
