
A hat trick from Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Cagliari put Juventus straight on top of Serie A with 45 points ahead of Inter Milan in second place with 42 points. Inter has an away match in hand with Napoil later in the day and they would need a win to return to the top with a goal difference of 22 against Juve’s 18.
The hat-trick is Ronaldo’s first since joining the champions July last year. Juventus beat Cagliari.
The goals which came through a penalty after Marko Rog fouled Paulo Dybala.
Portugal legend Ronaldo then set up Gonzalo Higuain to put Juve 3-0 up. All the three goals came in the second half.
The 34-year-old is the first player since Alexis Sanchez to score a hat-trick in the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.
