Reps Distributes Covid-19 Palliatives To Constituents

A member Federal House of Representative representing Jos North, Bassa Federal constituency, Hon Haruna Maitala has disbursed Covid-19 palliatives to 30 Federal wards in the his constituency to mark his anniversary election.

Maitala who had early this year given financial support to over 500 students and 2000 others many  to pay their JAMB and NECO, SSCE examinations, distributed tons of fertizers to boost the agricultural demands of farmers in the area. The fertilizers were distributed to the youths and women who are involved in agriculture especially in 14 ward of Jos north and 16 wards in Bassa LGAs.

Addressing a media parley after the exercise, he said it was part of his one year scored card as representatives of his people and described his journey as a politician as full of learning and understanding of the terrain in Jos North LGA.

He told journalists that politics has drawn him closer to the people of his constituency and made him to identify some of their primary needs, lamenting that the Covid-19 pandemic has slowed work in the area.

“I only seek the intervention of Almighty Allah for them to exercise patience because good things are underway for them. I’m going to build roads, construct culverts linking communities and electrify villages including schools ,” he said.

“We are going see performance in the area of water supply too.

In the area of Covid-19 pandemic palliatives, we have supplied over 2000 bags of rice, 2000 maize.

He urged the people of his constituency to obey the restrictions orders on social distances, protocols on hand washing and the wearing of facemask.

Maitala tasked the warring communities in the area to sheath their sword and embrace dialogue towards promoting togetherness as promised during the peace brokered by the Senator representing Plateau North over Irigwe killings .
