The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has obtained assurance from the Federal Government to rehabilitate the Ohafia/Arochukwu road.
Hon. Uko Nkole stated this after an assessment tour of the reconstruction work on the 34 kilometers road, stressing the need for the completion of the project as soon as possible.
Expressing the hope for quick completion of the road, which he said had been long over-due, he added that when, completed it would boost the economy of the constituency and the state in general.
His word: “I have gotten assurances from the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Barrister Tunde Fashola that the road will not be abandoned again. I am strongly persuaded that he meant it.
“I can also tell you confidently, that he has approved for the mobilization of the second phase which is the 17 kilometers that will stretch up to Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area,” he enthused.
He maintained that beside the road project, which he said he considers as one of his greatest achievements in the office, he had also contributed largely to the development of the constituency.
Nkole listed the contributions to include infrastructure development, building of classroom blocks, sinking of boreholes, offering of scholarships, human capital development, and youth/widow empowerment programs.
