Poly Rector, Mother, Face Life Threat As He Embarks On Sanity Reform

The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Usman Salisu Ogbo on Monday raised the alarm over alleged threat to his life and that of his mother following the reform embarked upon to sanitize the institution of wrong doings.

The Rector disclosed this at a press conference he held in Lokoja on Monday to cry out to the public over the dangerous plot by some persons within the Polytechnic community who doesn’t want the progress of the institution.

According to him, some persons were after his life and that of his mother for trying to reform the Kogi State Polytechnic for the better in terms of delivering quality education as well as character moulding of both the students and staffers of the institution that had been battered.

He said some staff who have been allegedly involved in job racketeering, forgery, sale of examination papers, examination magic centres want him out of office at all cost.

He accused one Abu Emmanuel Arome of the Kogi State Customary Court of conniving with some staff to steal and issue illegal receipts to syphon the polytechnic funds.

The Polytechnic Rector explained that the reform embarked upon by his administration doesn’t go down well by some persons perceived to be enemies of the institution but he remains determined to bring sanity to the institution.

According to him, thirty-two students of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja were last week arrested by the institution’s security architecture while writing the second-semester examinations at a Sarki Noma miracle examination centre, a suburb of Lokoja. metropolis.

The two other centres discovered he said included the Champion and California Lodges at Sarki Noma, a suburb in Lokoja.

The Rector said the reform intends to address the problem of examination malpractices, cultism, forging of results, religious sects, stealing/illegal issuing of The Polytechnic receipts, illegal sales of textbooks by lecturers and incitement of students to embark on wrong doings by few elements amongst staffers of the institution.
