Scenes from the robbery: Police nab of the robbers
An armed robbery operation took place few hours ago on Saturday at First Bank in the Mpape area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital
Eyewitness account disclosed that the bank has been surrounded by policemen and soldiers.
The robbers who stormed the bank, just before noon, were trapped inside.
Police of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have foiled a bank robbery, gunned down a suspect and arrested four others inside According to reports, the robber that was gunned down had tried to escape was shot by a combined team of police and soldiers.
According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, “Investigation has commenced to determine how they entered the bank and other things.”
