Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force have neutralised kidnappers of the wife of the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, and recovered ransom.
Mrs. Odumosu was kidnapped last Friday at her residence in Arepo, Ogun State.
Her abductors had reportedly demanded a ransom of N40 million to secure her release.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Thursday, that the kidnappers had been killed by operatives who also recovered the ransom paid to secure her release.
Adejobi reiterated the force’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring justice prevails.
“The IGP has commended the police operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job. We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country,” he said.
