Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church and convener of The Experience worship concert, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, is currently being questioned by detectives at the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly brandishing a gun-like object at a road user while driving an unregistered vehicle.

The Lagos State Police Command, in a post on its official X handle, confirmed that Adefarasin voluntarily turned himself in and is now under investigation.

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation on the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user while driving in an unregistered vehicle.

“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated.

The viral video at the center of the controversy shows Adefarasin inside a car, lowering his window and appearing to warn a content creator, reportedly known for filming luxury vehicles in Lagos.

The clip sparked speculation online, with many alleging that the clergyman had pointed a firearm.

Reacting to the incident during a church service, Adefarasin denied owning or carrying any firearm.

He insisted that the object in question was not a gun and that he did not point it at anyone.

“I do not carry a gun, I do not own one, and I did not point anything at anyone. What’s circulating is part of a broader attack on me and my ministry,” Adefarasin told his congregation.

The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing and that further updates will be shared upon conclusion.
